On Monday, 27 April, we’re welcoming Gilles Lapalus of Maison LAPALUS for an exceptional wine tasting. A third-generation winemaker from Cluny in Burgundy, Gilles brings more than 30 years of experience shaped across France’s most revered regions, from Burgundy and Beaujolais to the Médoc and Languedoc, as well as vintages in Tuscany, Campania and Chile. Since moving to Victoria in 2001, he has played a defining role in shaping Sutton Grange Winery, and has gone on to establish both Maidenii Vermouth and his own label, Maison LAPALUS.

Earlier this year, Gilles lost everything in the Ravenswood South fire, which destroyed his entire production facility and stock. In a gesture reflective of the generous spirit of the local winemaking community, friends quickly gathered to donate grapes and wines, resulting in Les Vins des Mes Amis — the very wines that Gilles will be pouring on the night.
