Wine Tastings

We love to host talented winemakers in our bar for a tasting. It's a way to celebrate the many wineries from near and far that make up our community.

AR.PE.PE
monday, 3RD AUGUST
5:30PM - 8PM

Join us on Monday, 3rd August, as we welcome Isabella Pelizzatti Perego of AR.PE.PE at Marion.

AR.PE.PE is the project of the Perego family, high in Italy's Valtellina. Farming granite terraces since 1860, they work exclusively with Nebbiolo — known locally as Chiavennasca — across the historic subzones of Sassella, Grumello and Inferno, the heart of Valtellina Superiore DOCG. The wines are built on patience: long, gentle macerations in large “tini”, followed by extended ageing in large “botti”, producing Nebbiolo of remarkable precision, texture and drive.

Drop in on Monday, 3rd August from 5.30-8pm to meet Isabella, try her family’s wines and stay for some Marion snacks.

She will be pouring —

 2023 Rosso di Valtellina
2022 Grumello Rocca De Piro
2022 Sassella Stella Retica
2022 Inferno Fiamme Antiche

SPERI
monday, 10TH AUGUST
6PM - 8PM

Join us on Monday, 10th August, we welcome Giuseppe Speri, seventh-generation winemaker at Speri.

Run by five generations of the same family, Speri sits deep in Valpolicella, the red wine heartland of Italy's Veneto. Farming since 1874, they grow exclusively local red varieties – Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara – to make the region's three traditional wines: Valpolicella, Ripasso and, most famously, Amarone. Made from partially dried grapes that concentrate their sugars, Amarone is rich and powerful, and brilliant alongside cheese – especially Parmigiano Reggiano and Gorgonzola.

Come in to meet Giuseppe, hear stories from the vineyard and try traditional Valpolicella wines.

He will be pouring –

2023 Valpolicella Classico 'La Roverina'
2023 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso
2020 Amarone della Valpolicella 'Monte Sant'Urbano'
